About Honeycomb Gallery
Where art and inclusion thrive
Honeycomb Gallery brings art and inclusion together to create a space that supports artists with disabilities to share their art with the world. Both the Gallery space in Nuriootpa and the online platform provide a unique space for inclusive artists to be recognised and celebrated.
SupportingArtists to build independence
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to share their art with the world and that barriers to artist’s work being exhibited need to be removed.
Honeycomb Gallery, the concept created by Arts Therapist Tara Kate, takes a holistic approach to the traditional art gallery, providing employment and the opportunities to exhibit artworks to people living with disability.
Our gallery model provides the opportunity for people with disability to develop financial independence, form ongoing connection with community, build self-confidence and ultimately, promote wellbeing.
Come on in at Honeycomb Gallery
From the moment you step in the door and see the colourful floor, you know you are in a unique place. The Gallery walls are adorned with artworks that show a form of expression usually not seen in a lot of art galleries.
The artworks are the crafting and creation of artists with disability who want to share more than their art, but also their experiences with you.
Located at Fifth Street, Nuriootpa, and co-located with Tara Kate Art Therapy and Studio the gallery is open to the public during regular exhibitions through the year and by appointment or prior arrangement.
Artworks are available to purchase on commission, with sales proceeds going back to the artist to support their personal endeavours and independence.
AboutTara Kate Art Therapy and Studio
Established in 2017, Tara Kate Art Therapy has been supporting people with disability to participate in art in a way that supports emotional wellbeing, builds community and creates engagement.
In 2023 The Hive to Thrive™ program was launched at the Nuriootpa based studio, connecting adults and young people living with disability to individual and group art therapy programs.
The program participants are given the opportunity to exhibit their artworks in the events scheduled throughout the year, and now the opportunity to sell their pieces in the online platform of Honeycomb Gallery if they identify it as something that supports them to achieve their goals.
